Who Are We?

We are AMP, an energy company fuelled by passionate, hardworking people, all driven by a shared desire to achieve results and get things done. A business that turns sustainability ambitions into reality – we focus on practical solutions that tackle the challenges of climate change and the energy transition.

Because the challenges of climate change and the energy transition are many, we focus on two areas where we believe we can add greatest value: the decarbonisation of heat and flexible generation and storage of electricity, all underpinned by our Energy Services division.

Heat Decarbonisation

Results, not rhetoric.

We develop, fund and run low carbon energy centres across the UK, taking responsibility for delivering what we promise. Our tailored, on-site energy solutions in space heating and industrial manufacturing turn the challenge of heat decarbonisation into opportunities.

We understand the complexities and costs of transitioning from oil and gas, and we deliver projects that not only overcome these challenges but also create a tangible, measurable impact. We make our customers’ sustainability objectives happen.

Grid Flexibility & Storage

We build, own and operate flexible assets that generate and store electricity where and when it’s needed most. When it’s too windy, our batteries store electricity and our electric boilers ramp up. When it’s not windy enough, our gas engines generate electricity and our batteries discharge.

We specialise in smaller, localised projects. They can do all the things that big ones can – and much more. By generating locally and close to demand, we avoid transmission losses and provide our distribution networks with the capacity to respond to the growing demand for electricity. We do all this whilst reducing the amount of network reinforcement needed, saving consumers money.

All in, we own over 40 flexible generation assets and battery storage sites across the UK, developed and run in house by our dedicated teams of project developers, asset managers and field service engineers.

Energy Services

We look after thousands of assets across Great Britain, including biomass boilers, gas engines and battery storage systems. We look after our own assets and those of our customers as a committed long-term owner would do.

To keep things running smoothly, we have a GB wide team of engineers and a large stock holding of parts and spares. Our engineers are HETAS, BOAS and Gas Safe accredited, MTU trained and keep up to date with regular training.

We supply high quality RHI accredited biomass wood fuel and a run a fleet of trucks to ensure efficiency and quality control. We champion the highest sustainability standards including ENplus and Woodsure Certification. And we offer a consultancy service to help our customers navigate the complexities of RHI regulation and compliance.
