About the Internship Programme  At Laing O’Rourke, we’re committed to equipping our interns with the foundational knowledge and skills needed for success. As part of our comprehensive 12-week Internship Programme, you’ll have the chance to work on a real project site during the summer. Here’s what you can expect: Hands-On Experience:  Get involved in meaningful work that contributes to our projects. Guidance and Support:  Receive supervision, feedback, and mentorship from industry professionals. Weekly Training Sessions:  Enhance your skills through specialized training sessions. Networking:  Connect with a dedicated buddy and fellow interns. The Internship Programme is open to penultimate year university students (second last year), due to graduate in 2025. It allows you to experience working at Laing O’Rourke, get a sense of our culture and gain a better understanding of the job and future career pathway. Following your internship, you will receive priority consideration for our 2026 Graduate Development Programme. There may also be opportunities for you to remain in the business in a casual capacity while you complete your studies. About the Environmental Engineering Engineering stream A sample of the type of tasks you may complete as a Environmental Engineering Engineering Intern include: Applying an engineering and science-based approach to the delivery of environmental requirements on our projects Monitoring and reporting environmental compliance including environmental inspections, coaching and influencing construction methodologies Identifying and assessing environmental risks and determining the appropriate management measures Interpreting and managing/updating relevant legislation, approval conditions and site based management plans Promoting compliance and excellence in project environmental matters Working with project team to deliver safe and sustainable environmental programmes and initiatives on the project Providing advice to supervisors, the project management team, employees and other personnel on the project on environmental compliance matters Reviewing completed environmental records to ensure they verify compliance with specified project requirements Eligibility and how to apply To be eligible for our Internship Programme, you must meet the following criteria: At time of application, hold Australian/ New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residency. Be in your second last year of university studies (penultimate year), due to graduate in 2025. Be studying a relevant degree to the role advertised, Bachelor Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science or related degree. You will be required to complete an online application form and upload your CV and academic transcript (online transcript is acceptable). Applications close on Sunday 21 July 2024.
