Job Title: 2nd line IT Service Desk Engineer



Hours:  37.5 hours per week            



Location:  Bolton



Salary: £27,000

We are looking for a 2nd line IT Service Desk Engineer to join our IT team. 



As our 2nd line IT Service Desk Engineer, you will provide 2nd line support services, as part of a team of experienced engineers, ensuring colleagues across the group get the IT support they need. 



You will own, monitor and resolve IT incidents and service requests by investigating a range of technical issues impacting colleagues across all areas of the business. 



As well as supporting queries raised by colleagues from any site, you will have site-specific support responsibilities ensuring allocated sites get the support they need.



To be successful in this role you will need experience in the following:



Technical Skills:



•    Microsoft 365 experience (essential)

•    Active Directory/Azure (essential)

•    Knowledge of MDM (preferred) 

•    Windows server experience (preferred)

•    Networking experience (preferred)

•    VOIP/Telephony solutions including 3CX and Mitel (preferred)

•    Microsoft Windows 10 (preferred)



Experience and skills:



•    Minimum of 3 years’ 2nd line role experience within a technical support desk or MSP (essential)

•    Holds a professional qualification (Microsoft MCSA, CCNA etc) or an IT Degree or working towards one (essential)

•    Strong knowledge of Microsoft products desktop and server platforms (essential)

•    Strong knowledge of working within an ITIL framework (essential)

•    Good understanding of IT infrastructure (essential)

•    Strong customer service skills (essential)

•    Strong working knowledge of current software packages and operating system (essential)

•    Advanced knowledge of IT hardware (preferred)

•    Previous experience of ConnectWise (preferred)

•    Must have strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures and take ownership of tasks or issues

•    Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

•    Ability/willingness to learn, prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines

•    Ability to work on own initiative, tackle tasks proactively, address and resolve problems and able to follow a methodical approach to service issues

•    Ability to diagnose faults in the hardware/software/operating systems used

•    Contributes to, supports and works within the team

•    Ability to work well with challenging customers and under pressure
