About the Role:
The Accountant position is a great opportunity to join Woodside’s Finance function and support a range of accounting activities. The role will be responsible for performing global joint venture accounting processes and works in conjunction with other finance teams globally. It is critical in driving efficient, effective and compliant process execution.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The role will require you to work closely with our global finance teams to perform the following activities in a timely and accurate manner:
• Ensure accounting for non-operated JVs is in compliance with accounting principles and regulations and Joint Operating Agreements
• Provide support to the FP&P team for non-operated JV related queries.
• Preparation of JIBs working file for non-operated JVs and posting monthly JIBs into SAP
• Processing monthly cash calls received from non-op partners into SAP
• Act as an administrator for the AFE module and provide support to FP&P for AFE module related queries.
• Assist with joint venture audit requirements
• Provide support to Group Reporting as required through the completion of month end activities such as CJEs, Trial Balances reviews and LHN commentaries.
• Preparation of General Ledger reconciliations
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Ensuring work is compliant with all statutory requirements, including tax, SOX and audit compliance and Woodside Code of Conduct
• Act as a backup to other JV accountants during leave and other absences
Skills & Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Degree qualified in Accounting/ Finance. Accounting qualifications are not mandatory, although you may be studying towards an accounting qualification or professional certification.
• A working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP environment.
• Previous joint venture and SOX compliance experience would be beneficial.
• Ability to work independently, organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong communications skills both verbal and written.
