THE ROLE

As a member of AppTek’s Data Operations team, you will manage the data that powers cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning technologies. The AI Data Project Manager drives creating project plans, owning volume and timeline targets, training and coordinating resources, and managing relationships with clients and partners in this high-growth part of AppTek’s business.

Project Managers are pro communicators, well-organized, and skilled at setting priorities and expectations in tight timeframes with different types of stakeholders. They are experienced with data analysis, enabling them to develop effective project plans and monitor progress. They use their understanding of the bigger picture to raise opportunities and risks. At the same time, they are extremely detail-oriented: they know the ins and outs of tasks and deliverable requirements. As strategic problem-solvers, Project Managers bring structure to dynamic environments.

Project Managers are able to work autonomously. They are also great collaborators and identify ways to improve processes and results for the team.

Project Managers have some working knowledge of information technology systems. This expertise allows them to assess technical risks and understand how to optimize processes. Background in Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, specifically Automatic Speech Recognition, Large Modeling, and Natural Understanding is also a plus but not required. Interest in learning is a must!

THE TEAM

• You will primarily work closely with a team of Project Managers. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and scientists
• You will report to the VP of Data Operations

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and anticipate customer needs and expectations
• Understand requirements of data collection and annotation projects
• Propose and drive project plans that meet deliverable requirements
• Manage recruitment, training, coordination, and billing for project resources; serve as point of contact for external partners
• Collect and analyze data to create forecasts, monitor progress, and assess output
• Ensure quality, timely execution and deliveries
• Establish frameworks for processes and strategize on workflows
• Raise opportunities, risks, and lessons learned around improving processes
• Cultivate a culture of respect, , and well-being

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years experience in project management and people management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, esp. Outlook, Excel, Word; experience with Project Management tools
• Familiarity with information technology, technologies, or AI/machine learning data
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Strong data analysis capabilities
• Leadership and relationship-building capabilities
• Strategic problem-solver
• Interest/experience with technology and data
• Growth mindset
