Application Engineer - Electronic

Job Description I am currently looking for an Applications Engineer with experience with optoelectronics to join a leading Cork based company Responsibilities:Understand specific customers' technical requirements and advise the sales team on the correct choice of componentsTake ownership of customer technical issues and co-ordinate that the necessary internal resources required to resolve the issue and ensure they are acted on in a timely mannerWhen necessary, support out-of-hours technical support to customers located worldwideDesign, build, and test systems to demonstrate or measure performance parameters in new or novel ways to aid the design-in process for customers or to root cause customer issuesGenerate, edit and review datasheets and support documentation and training materialsCreate demonstrations, evaluation boards, and application notesTravel to regional offices and/or distributors to provide in-depth technical trainingProvide feedback to the new product development teams about the customer needs/requirementsCollaborate with other business units, marketing, engineering, and sales to create total system solutions for our customersRequirements:Bachelors degree in Electronics or a related disciplinePrevious experience in a similar roleSignificant hands-on test, measurement and debug skills (comfort working with Oscilloscopes, Power meters, BER testers, programmable power supplies, etc.)Knowledge of digital communication circuits and data busesDirect experience testing the physical layer of logic and data communications equipmentFlexibility to travel worldwide and to be available to customers outside of normal working hoursExcellent technical writing skillsMorgan McKinley is acting as an Employment Agency and references to pay rates are indicative.BY APPLYING FOR THIS ROLE YOU ARE AGREEING TO OUR TERMS OF SERVICE WHICH TOGETHER WITH OUR PRIVACY STATEMENT GOVERN YOUR USE OF MORGAN MCKINLEY SERVICES.
