Applications & Development Chemist required on a permanent basis, based in Cheshire. Requiring a degree in Chemistry, with recent industrial experience in formulating & testing the applications of surfactant-based products. Recent experience may include coatings, pigments, adhesives, construction (highly desirable), personal care and home care products.\n\nTitle: Applications & Development Chemist\n\nLocation: Cheshire\n\nSalary: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)\n\nEmployment Term: Permanent\n\nSRG are working with a multinational company who specialise in the creation of speciality chemicals for a range of markets.

They are now looking to add an Applications & Development Chemist to their industrial technical team, on a permanent basis at their site in Cheshire. In this role, the successful candidate will support in the development and application testing of surfactant-based formulations for various industrial applications, including construction (gypsum and mortar additives), coatings, pigments, adhesives, and more. Candidates who have recent industrial experience of developing and testing products that contain surfactants are encouraged to apply, including recent chemistry graduates who may have spent a year in industry as part of their degree.\n\nBenefits: An exciting role in a highly respected, multi- company, with significant intellectual property potential and commercial impact.

37.5 hours, Mon-Fri, flexible working hours. Excellent company pension and bonus potential, private healthcare and 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory bank holidays.\n\nRole / Description \n\nSupport in the development and formulation of surfactant-based products for a range of different sectors.\nProgress the development of products through proper stages of project management - from inception to commercialisation.\nAssist in the testing of these new products in lab environment using standard equipment to include performance and stability assessment.\nAble to discuss these new products and application testing results with the technical and commercial teams.\nCollaborate with other teams and external testing facilities to evaluate newly developed products.\nManage both internal and customer projects within the agreed timelines.\nProduce samples on Laboratory scale.\nMaintain accurate records of lab activities, issue detailed technical reports in a reasonable time frame and, when required, prepare effective PowerPoint presentations to present internal projects to the technical and business teams.\nPerform a thorough review of the existing patent literature to ensure the new formulations could be brought to market without any legal complications.Requirements\n\nDegree in Chemistry\nRecent, industrial experience of developing and testing the performance (application testing)ofsurfactant-based products \nA wide variety of backgrounds can be considered including personal care, homecare, coatings, pigments, adhesives\nConstruction (gypsum and mortar additives) experience is highly desirable\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\nFamiliarity of basic analytical chemistry techniquesSRG is the UK's number one recruitment company specialising in the scientific, engineering, clinical, pharmaceutical, food/FMCG, energy & renewables, biotech, chemical and medical device sectors.\n\nAs scientists ourselves, our specialist sector knowledge and our passion are second to none.
