We are currently seeking an Applications Scientist to join a very fast-growing scientific instrumentation manufacturer based just outside of Cambridge! Joining a multidisciplinary team developing oxygen sensing technology!

The successful applicant will have strong physics or materials science experience to understand the fundamental sensing technologies, whilst learning from colleagues to develop a holistic understanding of the techniques required to integrate them into superior products and systems!

The Applications Scientist will be both lab-based as well as infrequent travel to customers and/or sister companies, thus having strong technical skills along with a commercial awareness would be key. This opportunity would be well placed for someone who has the right attitude and aptitude to develop an understanding of customer’s applications, whilst providing oversight of the development of new products and manufacturing processes.

The Applications Scientist will have the following skills and experience:

• Degree in Physics or Material Science
• Recent and relevant experience within product development/manufacturing engineering or related environment.
• Contribute materials science or physics knowledge to wider innovation group for developing improved sensing technologies.
