$95,187 - $108,734 + up to 15.4% Superannuation (Includes scheduled March 2025 pay increase in accordance with the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement 2024) Adelaide - SA, Canberra - ACT, Sydney CBD - NSW The Role We are looking for multiple APS 6 Engineering Professionals and Technology Specialists positions within Navy Engineering Branch to service several disciplines, which include: Naval Architecture. Ship Structures. Stability and Hydrodynamics. Naval Hull Inspection. Margins Management. Aviation Integration. Ship Structures Assist Navy by providing engineering advice to ensure structural suitability and integrity to achieve the operational intent through the life of the vessel. Stability and Hydrodynamics Assist Navy by providing engineering advice to assess stability, seakeeping, manoeuvrability, launch and recovery systems for the RAN surface fleet (including sea boats and in-harbour craft). Naval Hull Inspection Assist Navy with monitoring the material condition and upkeep of hull structure. For instance establishing agreed hull inspection programs, monitoring the adequacy of repairs and corrosion control. Margins Management  Assist Navy by supporting the RAN with the management of capability limits such as weight, electrical capacity, HVAC, to ensure adequate margin throughout the life cycle (design, build, sustainment, disposal).  Aviation  Assist Navy by supporting the integration of military aircraft into the RAN surface fleet and ship’s aviation systems through the analysis and investigation of engineering defects, provision of advice and interpretation of seaworthiness and airworthiness policies, design requirements and supporting the certification of ships.  About our Team Navy Engineering is the trusted entity responsible for the provision of specialist engineering expertise needed to develop, deliver, and sustain maritime capability. Identification, quantification & management of risks to acquisition, sustainment and operation of maritime capabilities. Knowledge management that captures and maintains technical knowledge (lesson learnt) for efficient and effective use across existing and future programs of work. We are committed to our people and ensure they are supported with access to tailored professionalised pathways.  Our Ideal Candidate Expertise in the shipbuilding industry or a discipline such as ship survey and repair, naval architecture, mechanical, aeronautical or aerospace engineering is beneficial; however, training is available to those that demonstrate transferable skills (e.g. weld inspection, systems engineering, mechanics and materials, hydrodynamics) and willingness to develop the expertise.  As an APS 6 Engineering Professional and a Technology Specialist, you will need to demonstrate the following competencies for delivery of complex engineering and technical functions: Strategic Direction Apply engineering knowledge to identify issues and take these into account when planning and priority setting for delivery.
