Assembler Field Service Technician

Job Summary: Assembles systems and subassemblies using common hand and power tools and measurement equipment. Builds equipment to assembly procedures, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions. Installs and performs preventative and on demand maintenance on equipment, and coordinates service operations at customer sites. Works under minimal supervision.
Essential Duties:
- · Performs complex assembly tasks building fixtures and assemblies with minimal supervision.
- · Ability to work in all departments within manufacturing as determined by the production schedule
- · Works to meet customer-requested ship dates.
- · Builds product from assembly instruction, blueprints, engineering sketches and verbal instructions.
- · Recognizes defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes or faulty workmanship.
- · Complies with acceptable quality standards using appropriate manufacturing practices and methods.
- · Conducts complex mechanical and basic electrical operational tests and troubleshooting on finished products and subassemblies.
- · Selects and uses appropriate hand and power tools and measurement equipment required for the task.
- · Processes appropriate paperwork, such as work order sheets, time sheets and test data sheets, in a timely manner.
- · Travels to customer site to install and repair equipment, and perform preventive maintenance at customer sites.
- · Supervises and assigns work to junior field service personnel at customer sites.
- Ability to work with electronics in industrial equipment from relays to programmable logic controllers using electrical schematics.
- · Troubleshoots and handles customer problems via telephone and at customer site.
- · Maintains records and documentation for customers in CRM
- · Works with engineering and manufacturing to solve customer problems and equipment technical issues. Providing written reports on problem and recommended resolution.
- · Provides on-site training for customers.
- · Develops and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- · Associate degree with two years experience in field service , or HS diploma with 5+ years related experience.
- · Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
- · Ability to travel at short notice domestically and internationally.
- · Ability to plan and organize.
- · Ability to work without direct supervision.
- · Excellent customer relation skills.
- · Ability to lift heavy equipment.
- · Ability to distinguish colors on electronic components.
