Assembly Manufacturing Engineer
Major and established brand name company with a good working culture has an opportunity for an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer at their large manufacturing site on the southwest side of the Atlanta, GA metro. There are major company benefits, 5% bonus potential, and 2% profit sharing associated with this position. Summary: In this role will design, plan, and supervise; Develop and implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials; Develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology; Analyze the impact of the products they develop or the systems they design on the environment and on people using them; determine the causes of breakdowns; Test manufactured products to maintain quality; Estimate the time and cost to complete projects; Job Responsibilities: Designs and develops engineering projects with nominal direct supervision. Provides shop floor support and Kaizen improvements. Supports production manager, senior engineers and production associates. Provides direction to maintenance and Unit Technicians. Manage moderate capital projects and providing capital forecasts. Serve as active member of Manufacturing Engineering Team. Facilitate kaizen and process improvement activities with the production and maintenance personnel. Education / Experience: 4-year technical degree (i.e., mechanical, manufacturing or related) required and 6-8 years of experience in engineering role in a manufacturing environment or high school diploma or 15-20 years equivalent experience in engineering. Other Required Skills: Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem solving techniques. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with applied experience working in a team environment.MS office, knowledge of poke yoke, kaizen, lean concepts, and manufacturing engineering experience with the assembly process.
