NOVEC is seeking a Asset and Maintenance Administrator to fill a new position managing the asset management database of the Cooperative's substation equipment.


Overview of role:

Maintains the asset management and maintenance system by ensuring all equipment is correctly entered with the proper maintenance and tracking parameters.

Evaluates the manufacturer's maintenance recommendations and uses the asset management system to automatically create maintenance orders based on operations, time, and other factors.

Runs reports for management regarding asset health, maintenance timelines, work completion, and others as assigned.

Performs regular SCADA checks to determine historical and current alarms and items needing investigation.

Works with the protection and physical engineers to determine testing parameters and test plans for relays and equipment.

Maintains database of test data for equipment. Researches and provides input on test equipment, parameters, scheduling, and reporting.

Manages workorders and coordinates crews based on management needs.

Coordinates with vendors for returns and warranty issues.

Coordinates with management and relevant parties to coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance activities.

Coordinates with vendors and manufacturers on recall and other problem issues.


Education and/or Experience:

4+ years of experience in the maintenance and scheduling of equipment is required.

High School diploma or GED is required.

Formal education and/or training in the maintenance, scheduling, and reliability of assets is required. A Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional is a bonus.

Formal education and/or training in electrical theory or electronics and network and telecommunications systems and/or an Associates degree in an electrical field is a plus.


Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to apply analytical methodology to problem solving and relate theoretical and/or technical concepts to practical application including but not limited to writing test procedures and recording technical data.

Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and relate technical drawings, specifications, system books, and maps to distribution and transmission systems.

Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of staff, the public, and others effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, while maintaining professionalism and control under all circumstances.

Demonstrated ability to perform job responsibilities in a safe, timely and accurate manner within established guidelines under minimal supervision while providing superior customer service.

Demonstrated proficiency with general computer operation, Microsoft Office applications, database management and related software systems.
