Successful candidates will be staff members that can work with their colleagues to help meet the mission of the department of Admissions in serving and supporting our racially and ethnically diverse campus community. Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Admission Operations, the Assistant Director will be charged with the management of campus visitation programs and communication involving prospective students and their families for the office of undergraduate admissions. The Assistant Director will hire, train and supervise a team of student employees as well as administer logistics associated with campus visitation programs. The Assistant Director will also create, implement, and monitor communication content for each stage of the admissions funnel.Supervision Received: Director of Admissions OperationsSupervision Exercised: Student EmployeeThis position is an exempt, APA unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.COVID-19 Vaccination RequirementThis position must comply with the University Covid-19 Attestation requirement. Position Type APA Professional Essential Duties Collaborate with the Office of Marketing and Communication to create and implement undergraduate communications via email, text and social media for prospective students and their families in all stages of the admission pipeline.Manage department social media presence and branding profile. Create culturally relevant and inclusive content and provide regular updates as to office hours and offers. Interact with and answer student questions and requests for more information.Serve as the counselor on duty in the office to respond to questions and requests from prospective students, parents, staff, faculty, and the general public, in person, by email or via telephone.Direct all on-campus and virtual recruitment activities, including the oversight and implementation of daily tours, group visits, open houses, information sessions, and other admission initiatives.Recruit, hire, train and supervise student tour guide and reception desk employees for the admissions office who will act as agents of the university.Schedule all aspects of campus visitations and events, including generating and sending confirmation emails, assigning tour-guides, scheduling activities requested during the visit, contacting and coordinating appointments with various on-campus departments and/or personnel.Manage group visit program including outreach and coordination with school groups, guidance counselors, special interest groups, alumni, community groups, and other constituents.Be a mentor and role model to student employees as well as demonstrates sensitivity to students, faculty, and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation and socioeconomic backgrounds and to students with a diversity of learning styles.Utilize equity and inclusive practices to manage the department’s marketing and communication strategies, and promotional materials to engage with all students, and family members.Assists the Director of Admission Operations in the formulation of annual budget for campus visitation programs staffing and implementation.Provides annual reports to the Director of Admission Operations on performance metrics associated with admission communication efforts and campus visitation programs.Ability to work a flexible schedule according to departmental needs, which may include occasional evenings and weekends.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admission Operations. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degreeThree years of professional experience within the fields of higher education, operations, or communication.Must be able to travelExperience and proficiency using Microsoft office and Adobe suite of productsExperience using a CRM and familiarity with running online and in-person eventsCommitment to customer service excellence/support to enhance an environment of equity, diversity, and inclusionAbility to communicate appropriately and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.Ability to build working relationships with a diverse community of students, faculty, administrators and staff.Ability to communicate clearly and make a positive impression on prospective students, their parents and high school counselorsSensitivity and commitment to issues of access, equity and inclusionMust be able to represent the organization in a professional manner, recruit and work within a diverse communityAbility to represent Bridgewater State University in a variety of situations and be able to competently interact with a diverse population of prospective students, faculty, and staff.Ability to work a flexible schedule according to departmental needs, which may include occasional evenings and weekends.
