Job Title: Assistant Estimator

Location: London

Salary: £35k - £40k per annum depending on experience

Reporting to: Commercial Director


The Role:

BSPS is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join our dynamic Estimating department. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in preparing accurate estimates and tenders for refurbishment, restoration, and fit-out projects in the commercial, education, hospitality, healthcare, mixed-use, retail, and public sectors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough site visits in London and the surrounding areas to gather accurate measurements and project details.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates and tenders for projects ranging from £50,000 to £1m.
  • Break down schedules of works and allocate resources effectively.
  • Conduct comprehensive quotation comparisons for various trades and subcontractors.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors through effective negotiation and feedback.
  • Ensure timely completion of tender clarifications from clients.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction estimating
  • Construction related degree
  • Proven ability to estimate projects ranging from £50,000 to £1m
  • In-depth knowledge of subcontractors operating in the London market
  • Ability to price from first principles
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
