Job summary An opportunity hasarisen for an enthusiastic and conscientious Assistant Maintenance manager (Electrical& Controls) to work within a team ofspecialist engineers responsible for the maintenance of the electricalinfrastructure, Including Building Management controls, electrical PPM maintenanceand minor works. Overseeing installation and contract works.The role would suit some who is currentlyworking in a supervisory position and looking for the first steps intomaintenance management.Ideally be educated to level HNC and NVQ level 3 orworking towards an engineering Degree but candidates will be considered who areworking towards this standard or can demonstrate equivalent practical ortheoretical experience, Ideally experience of maintaining/installingelectrical systems, door access control systems and network CCTV typicallyfound within a large acute NHS trust is desirable however consideration will begiven to candidates who have substantial experience in other electrical fieldswho are looking to develop within a new area of expertise. Through a structured development plan,the post holder will ultimately be working towards achieving the responsibilityof undertaking the role of Authorised Person (AP) as defined within HealthTechnical Memorandum (HTM) 00 for multiple engineer services which will work toensure that CHoICE meets its statutory, mandatory and best practicecommitments to its existing partners. Main duties of the job Main duties of the Assistant Maintenance Manager (Assistant EstatesOfficer) will be to work with alongside the Electrical Estates team to ensurethat all electrical and control systems are maintained in line with thecurrent standards. You will be overseeing all aspects of Statutory and non-statutory compliance. This will cover electricalIsolations and issuing all relevant permits to work, Managing the network dooraccess systems And Network CCTV contractor. As part of the role, you will beinvolved with managing small minor works and projects including appointingcontractors. You will be working towards becoming an electrical AP on site forvaried electrical systems. You will be expected to lead on small projects thiswill include submitting reports on progress and costs at team meetings. Part ofthe role will involve overseeing the maintenance of the fire alarm systems.The role will involve working with the electrical supervisor to managethe electricians helping with the day-to-day job allocations and ensuring thatSLA are maintained Via the electronic work allocation system.You will be expected to be part of the on-call system currently coving a1 in 6 rota after a probationary period.Expected earnings base salary £37,756 rising to £45,465 after theprobationary period However, as the role will require theparticipation within an on call rota, and require the completion of overtimeadditional monetary rewards will be generated as part of the role. Job description Job responsibilities The role will require thepost holder to, with support and guidance provided by the Estates Officer(Electrical & Controls), undertake the role of Authorised Person (AP) asdefined within Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 00 for potentially multipleengineer services. This responsibility will provide the post holder with responsibilityfor assisting the Estates Officer (Electrical & Controls) in ensuring that he/shedelivers/manages engineering services to an acceptable standard whilst ensuringCHoICE maintains its statutory, mandatory and best practice obligations to itscurrent CFS customers. Applicants are requestedto consider this when making their application.Please visit for further information Person Specification Experience Essential Post apprenticeship/graduation electrical experience Experience of maintaining/installing electrical systems typically found within a large Acute NHS Trust Desirable Experience of undertaking a similar role within an NHS environment Experience of undertaking an engineering management role within a large acute hospital or similar industry. Physical skills Essential Undertake moderate moving and handling activities with the ability Requirement for physical dexterity, hand and eye co-ordination, Perform testing and asset condition surveys using a range of technical and non-technical devices and instruments, to sit at workstations for a prolonged period of time then adapt to undertake site surveys or respond to emergency situations, May be required to travel, work and manage at all of CFS managed sites Skills and knowledge Essential Ability to work to deadlines and predefined targets whilst using own initiative where necessary Manage and prioritise multiple tasks/projects simultaneously whilst balancing conflicting demands. Good IT skills Good communication skills with the ability to use appropriate techniques to a range of differing audiences Flexible in and out of working hours to meet the service needs Able to participate in out of hours on call arrangement as per the agreed Rota Qualifications Essential Educated to degree level qualification or equivalent in relevant field, OR working towards degree level qualification or equivalent in relevant field supplemented with relevant experience, OR able to demonstrate equivalent experience, knowledge and training, Basic Numeracy & Literacy Skills to Level 1 or equivalent Desirable Membership of a professional body Registered with the Engineering Council UK Management Qualification/Training
