Overview:
Come join our Team! SI Communities is looking for an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor in Northwest Houston. The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor diagnoses problems and makes repairs in areas such as HVAC (if certified), electrical, plumbing, carpentry, dry wall, appliances and structural.
The Community:
The maintenance staff work two properties that are across the street from each other
- Villa Anita I Apartments is a two-story, 190-unit Garden-style Community built in 1976 and renovated in 2015, located at: 5757 Guhn Rd, Houston, TX 77040
- Villa Anita II is a two-story,108-unit Garden-style community built in 1973 and renovated in 2016, located at: 8103 W Grow Ln, Houston, TX 77040

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repairs and maintains physical structures of apartment homes using hand tools and power tools.
- Replaces defective electrical switches and other fixtures.
- Paints structures, repairs drywall and woodwork with carpenter's tools.
- Repairs plumbing fixtures.
- Repairs boilers and appliances.
- Repairs floors and tile.
- Perform HVAC functions with proper certification.
- Responds promptly to all on-call requests.
- Completes work orders according to SI Communities guidelines and safety standards.
- Completes all required logs, paperwork or checklists related to inventory tracking or hazardous chemicals.
- Reports any maintenance issues and/or concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule which may include working special events and/or weekends.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in industry or related area.
- HVAC certification and experience as it applies to any HVAC responsibilities.
- Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.
