Position Available: Assistant Project Manager

R-2 Contractors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our team in estimating, bidding, negotiating projects, and contract administration. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in construction project management, including subcontracts, submittals, and document tracking. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfortable learning proprietary and internet-based software used for federal and agency clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in project setup, including job files, contract administration, and coordination with accounting.

  • Support excavation and underground utility installation within heavy civil construction.

  • Solicit and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Ensure project compliance with legal requirements, owner specifications, and government regulations.

  • Provide technical and administrative support to project team members.

  • Compile data and documentation for plans, work orders, and project reports.

  • Assist in managing HCSS or other bidding software ( but not required).

Requirements:

  • Punctual, proactive, and a self-starter.

  • Strong time management, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Knowledge of construction processes and project/operations management.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background check.

Job Type:

  • Full-time

  • Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 (dependent on experience)
