The Role
The mission of this role is to assist the Senior Project Manager Strategic Projects in managing and delivering large projects dealing with abrasive blasting and protective coating spray facilities. This includes design, construction of the facility as well as the installation / commissioning BlastOne supplied equipment. Overall project values will range from $5m - $50m.
You will need to have a strong Mechanical Engineering aptitude, a Design/Build Construction background and demonstrate experience Project Managing industrial construction and equipment projects.
Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Assists Senior PM in Developing technical solutions w/options in conjunction with SMEs
Assists Senior PM in creating budget proposals, schedules, and bills of material
Assist with change order documentation
Support procurement and material staging/ preparation
Coordinate rental equipment
Issuing, submitting, and tracking RFIs and Submittals in Procore
Creating and maintaining action item lists
Assists in engaging with a wide range of sub-contractors to obtain accurate & competitive costs when necessary
Assists in creating polished presentations with high level detail
Assists in evaluation, contracting, and oversight of general contractors or other sub-contractors
Required Skills/Qualifications
College degree, preferably in Engineering
Minimum 2 years of on-the-job relevant experience
Strong Mechanical Engineering aptitude
Design/Build Construction background
Demonstrate experience in Project Managing industrial construction and equipment projects.
Strong technical aptitude
Experience with industrial equipment, construction or related projects
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, details, and job orders as well as the ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical engineering design and assembly drawings
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Ability to rapidly resolve issues and recognize when escalation is necessary
Flexibility, agility, and change management skills
Knowledge of electric circuits, controllers & pneumatics would be an advantage
Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand equipment integration on an industrial site.
Must have an understanding and appreciation for site safety policies and procedures.
Must be able to effectively resolve conflicts
