Job Title – Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location – Cambridge (office based with 1 day a week on site)
Type – Permanent Role
Salary: £45 – 50k + package

Current turnover sits at £405m and their order book for the next 2-5 years is knockout.  With the number of projects awarded constantly growing, we have been asked to supply a number of strong QS’ to drive the commercial management of these works.  One of these roles is within their Life Science Division, we are looking for an Assistant / Project level QS to manage projects ranging from £5m - £45m in value.

Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:

• Cost valuations with sub-contractors.
• Negotiation with sub-contractors.
• Procurement of all supply items and subcontractor packages.

- Preparation of interim valuations.

• Chairing site and client progress meetings.
• Managing interim payments to sub-contractors.
• Regularly updating projected final accounts.
• Recruiting, mentoring and leading junior Commercial staff.
• Regularly updating and managing cash flow forecasts.
• Preparation and agreement of all final account matters.
• Monthly cost/value reconciliation.
• Pricing of all contract variations.

Quantity Surveyor experience required:

• Minimum 3 years Quantity Surveyor experience.
•  Tier 1 Main Contractor experience.
•  Experience of managing projects ranging from £5-15m in value.
•  Driven, enthusiastic, ambitious.

- Degree educated or similar.

• Strong communication / reporting / IT skills.
