Assistant Superintendent Position Summary: To assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with project management including managing the subcontractors, preparing all necessary reports, conducting meetings, organizing work space/trailer, and any other duties/tasks assigned by the other project members.

Essential Duties and Overall Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned:

  • Documentation: Prepare Daily Construction Reports, effectively prepare a complete DCR – well written, accurate weather, delineates specific activities and manpower, and take project photos routinely
  • Communication: Interact with subcontractors in a professional manner
  • Schedule: proactively schedule work to expedite the project, and address problematic subcontractors early on
  • Safety: prepare daily and weekly safety reports; attend mandatory monthly safety meetings; collect and maintain all project specific MSDS information in a well-organized binder; and document all safety warnings – verbal, written, etc.
  • Storm Water Prevention: prepare Daily/Weekly/Event SWMP Reports; and ensure that BMP’s are in place
  • Organization: maintain a clean, and well organized work space; make sure project documents (drawings, specifications, etc) are up-to-date and organized; and maintain a clean project site enforcing subcontractor cleaning responsibilities
  • Quality: read, research, coordinate and understands project documents prior to start of tasks (2-3 weeks minimum); review submittals prior to installation of work; and continuously verify site layout and dimensions
  • Close-out: maintain as-built documents for duration of the project, and take responsibility for completing punch list within two weeks of issuance
  • Cost Tracking: maintain individual cost tracking logs on site, and effectively manage cost expenditures
  • Other Duties: treat subcontractors fairly; address project warranty issues in a timely manner; and work with PM and project team to represent a single project focus.

Qualifications/Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, & Outlook, office equipment such as fax machines, and copiers, and Internet Explorer or other similar Internet tools and experience.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 5 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience working on multifamily/ build-to-rent/ SFR construction projects is .
