Assistant Sustainability Manager

Willmott Dixon is seeking a passionate and pro-active Assistant Sustainability Manager.



Reporting to the Principal Sustainability Manager, you will be part of our award winning multidisciplinary Sustainability Team. This exciting position is based in Letchworth where we support hybrid working arrangements but encourage a 3 day week in the office with the rest of the team.



Your role will be to support delivery of our ambitious Now or Never Strategy with a focus on carbon and waste reduction. You will analyse data to drive performance and find new insights, carrying out research, collaborate to develop new ideas in support of our 2030 targets and manage projects.

You will be responsible for:



Assist and contribute to the identification, development and embedding of changes across the company's operations to deliver our sustainability commitments and targets, focusing on the Better Planet aspects of the Now or Never Strategy.

Develop collaborative partnerships and supply chain relationships in line with our business strategies.

Work closely with our people to develop their sustainability skills, knowledge, and capability through delivering training, advice and support.

Analyse waste data, conduct research, and identify opportunities to implement innovative initiatives to reduce constructive waste across our projects.

Support internal and external customers to understand and respond to their sustainability priorities.

Support the business to demonstrate high levels of corporate responsibility and transparency in reporting to ensure legislative compliance and maintain our industry leading certifications and accreditations.Essential and Desirable Criteria



To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter who is able to work agilely. You will also possess:



Understanding/competence on sustainability issues in the construction sector

Degree (or equivalent) in environmental, science, engineering, construction or related subject

Ability to analyse, interpret and report data and information

Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities

Ability to communicate in a way in which meets the needs of a diverse audienceAdditional Information
