Associate Director - Civil Engineering

Job Description

I have been retained by an international, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate Director who will run and grow the civils team in London. My client offer Structures, Civils, MEP and Facades services + more  to a range of clients and get involved in projects based in the UK and overseas. Around 40% of their work is overseas.

In this role, you will be part of my clients management team and will be expected to play an active role in the development of the business. My client is one of the largest independent engineering firms in terms of revenue and have some exciting growth plans for the future which you will be an integral part of. You will be given the best opportunity possible to progress your skill-set and career and will be recognized for your achievements.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nManage and grow the civils team in London\n\t\nHelp mentor/guide junior members of staff\n\t\nContribute to the development of the business strategy\n\t\nSetting and meeting agreed budgets\n\t\nReview projects for technical & design quality\n\t\nExternal marketing in the interest of securing new work\n\t\nNegotiating major contracts with customers/clients and/or suppliers/contractors alongside the Regional Director/Director\n\t\nHandle contract administration\n\nWhat you need:\n\nChartered\n\t\nIdeally 10+ years’ experience\n\t\nExperience in a client-facing role\n\t\nCommercial Awareness\n\t\nA strong local network of contacts that can be built upon\n\t\nExperience managing a team in the past\n\t\nAn in depth knowledge of: Section 38 adoption and 278 works, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Road markings and Signage\n\nWhat you will get:\n\nGenerous annual leave allowance + day off on your birthday\n\t\nPension\n\t\nLife Assurance\n\t\nHealthcare scheme\n\t\nPaid professional subscriptions\n\t\nBreakfast or Luch provided in office on Fridays
