Associate Director - Funds

For the Good of Tomorrow Dubai Holding is looking to hire an Associate Director – Funds reporting to the Executive Director – Funds at Dubai Holding Investments LLC. You will be working closely with the Executive Director and responsible for evaluating, managing and executing primary investments into funds (hedge funds, public equities, fixed income and other asset classes). You will also be accountable for portfolio management, investments monitoring and reporting. Key Accountabilities: Research and Origination: · Research key trends affecting the current macro-economic trends, and target segments to provide insights on the portfolio construction and capital allocation. · Support the origination of fund investments (especially in hedge funds, developed markets equities, emerging markets equities and fixed income) globally through an extensive network of regional and global advisors and research firms. · Monitor market developments, identify key trends and conduct market mapping exercises. · Keep track of investment opportunities, maintain investments pipeline and update forward calendar. Investment Evaluation and Recommendation: · Evaluate prospective fund commitments including fund manager analysis, track record evaluation, benchmarking, financial modelling, valuation, industry research and sensitivity analysis. · Participate in due diligence meetings with fund managers and reference calls with investors. · Coordinate key analysis work-streams of prospective fund commitments, including legal, tax, operational due diligence and ESG. · Develop clear presentations in relation to analysis and research performed in order to communicate findings to management to make recommendations on investment opportunities. Transaction Execution and Governance: · Liaise with internal and external counterparties including on the negotiation of relevant legal agreements and investment structures. · Support as appropriate execution of investments, including finalizing investment documents and terms, acquisition of final approval documentation as per DHI governance framework. Portfolio Management, Monitoring and Reporting: · Continuously monitor fund performance and ensure investments are aligned the approved mandate and within the predefined risk parameters. · Provide DH management regular updates to assess the investment performance and prepare and release relevant reports to provide management with timely information for effective decision making. · Monitor and analyse market developments and market risk exposure on the investment portfolio. Platform Building and Operations: · Support the build-up of the fund investments team including producing strategy paper for each asset class, finetuning in-house process and other tasks as required. · Work with DH Finance team, Legal team and Governance team to ensure all funds related activities (such as capital calls, legal requests, etc) are delivered on time. Stakeholder Management: · Build relationships and maintain strong partnerships with existing and new advisors, fund managers and investors. Who we are looking for: · Minimum 8 - 10 years of work experience in fund selection (long only and hedge funds) at leading fund of funds, asset manager, family office, sovereign wealth fund or investment bank. Education / Professional Certifications: · Bachelor's degree or equivalent in leading academic institutions. · Master's in finance/MBA or CFA preferred. Technical & Behavioural Competencies: · Strong commercial judgment · A team-player, with maturity, integrity and the ability to engage with senior counterparties. · Strong written and oral communication skills. · Excellent relationship management skills. · Strong analytical skills and lateral thinking to solve problems. · Excellent organizational skills, having the ability to prioritize workload whilst being resilient and being able to cope well under pressure.
