ASSOCIATE ENGINEER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

JOB DESCRIPTION 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Engineer provides basic level engineering drawings related to electrical systems and components in support of VIP aircraft completions. 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide basic level engineering design and analysis of electrical systems and components.

2. Prepare basic level electrical system reports, Engineering Authorizations (EA’s), drawings, analyses, and test plans.

3. Develop basic level electrical system modifications and installation work instructions, procedures and recommendations.

4. Work within engineering team to provide instructions to drafting department to complete design.

5. Provide analysis and reports to substantiate that designs meet applicable criteria outlined in CFR’s both foreign and domestic.

6. Identifies discrepancies and/or problems with drawings before releasing to production and implements corrective action to ensure the timely release.

7. Provides basic level technical support and engineering disposition to resolve aircraft engineering/electrical systems problems.

8. Maintains basic level awareness of both foreign and domestic regulations and required compliance of including FARs, ADs, and SBs.

9. Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets completion aircraft requirements.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Systems Engineering or comparable.

2. 0 – 2 years of Aviation Electrical Systems Engineering experience in the aircraft completions industry working with business or private aircraft or equivalent.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Proficient with Microsoft Visio.

2. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.

3. Knowledge of relational database software (SQL or Microsoft Access) preferred.

4. Aviation background and experience with electrical systems.

5. Knowledge of industry electrical systems and documentation standards.

6. Requires working knowledge of applicable regulatory agency requirements and ability to discern how a design may be influenced by them. 

7. Requires reasoning/analytical skills to creatively design and problem solve.

8. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) governing aircraft certification preferred. 

9. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

10. Strong time-management and organizational skills.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The office building where this position works is a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues in the immediate vicinity of the work station. The employee in 

this position will experience occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements when called upon to locate personnel working inside or outside of a Hangar.
