When you add that to the challenges we take on and solve together, you’ll discover that at HARMAN you can grow, make a difference and be proud of the work you do everyday.About the RoleAs Resident Engineer at customer site, develops advanced product designs in cooperation with Harman Global engineering and Stake holders according to Harman strategy and also customer requirements and Global regulations and customer specifications.What You Will DoThe position would affect new business award by setting strategy with conceptual engineering proposal/review.It is required to work together with customers located in not only Korea but also North America, Europe and Asia and also engineers of Harman Global product develop center.Uses CATIA Version 5x CAD SW at highly skilled level to develop product concepts and designs of Harman systems and components.Analyzes design requests with consideration to customer requirements and supplier capabilities, and with regards to cost and timing to ensure manufacturability, efficiency and qualityCommunicate customer needs with Global Product Develop Center, including the program manager, the mechanical engineering, the Transduces engineering, worksites in Harman Korea office and at the customer’s facility, as necessary.Prepares technical reports and presentations for counter partner and customers, as necessaryInvestigate and analyze reviewable data to determine design intent and compliance with customer and government specifications and requirements.What You Need4 years related experience. A thorough understanding of general engineering practices. A strong background in the product engineering of plastics and sheet metal stamped parts as the related to acoustic products such as loudspeaker, amplifier.Must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the total product design development process, excellent conceptual abilities, plus demonstrating practical design ability is a must.CATIA V5 CAD skills are required.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technologyAdditional experience can be substituted for education and vice versa.Requires effective oral and written communications skills.Proficiency with MS OfficeEnglish Language proficiencyWhat is Nice to HaveMore 5 years’ work experience for Hyundai/Kia OEM product development as a Mechanical engineering or tooling developmentAcoustic knowledge/understanding for such as Klippel, Soundcheck, Acoustic precision.Transducer development experience of loudspeaker, micro speaker and micro phone.What Makes You EligibleBe willing to travel up to 10 - 20% travelBe willing to work in an office of R&D location and to visit customer’s locationSuccessfully complete a background investigation/Aptitude Test as a condition of employment.HARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
