Position Qualifications


Education: High school diploma or equivalent (APICS certification )

Experience/Skills/Abilities: Two to four years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication or assembly processes a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

Communication:

  • Oral communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
  • Written communication - Interacts with a variety of operating departments which include Sales, Engineering, Materials, Purchasing and Manufacturing. E-mail, Word and Excel will be required as a means of communication.

Scheduling/Planning:

  • Review incoming demands for accuracy of requirements and due dates.
  • Research and update modifications to item MRP information.
  • Review plans based on changes to daily MRP run.
  • Assist with projects (slow-moving inventory disposition, MRP data changes, lean initiatives).
  • Assist with schedule and balance line demands to maximize production output.

Production Activities:


  • Assist Production Manager with maintaining schedule adherence.
  • Expedite material to support departmental demands.
  • Create shop order packets for production
  • Keep all departments informed of shipment schedules.
  • Assist with physical inventories.

Lean Enterprise:

  • Establish and utilize frameworks and systems, including tools such as visual management, problem solving, standard work and kaizen.
  • Adhere to and promote the HR Pledge.
  • Cooperate and commit in a team environment to achieve goals and deliverables.
  • Resolve difficult or complicated challenges using the problem-solving process.

  • Experience in lean manufacturing and JIT processes
  • Computer skills - Able to create and maintain documents in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and have some exposure to manufacturing information system.

Travel Required: Up to 10%

Hours: Regular 40-hour workweek. Overtime as needed. Some Saturdays (up to eight hours).

Working Conditions: Office setting; manufacturing plant
