Associate Quality Inspector

Under general supervision this position is responsible for inspecting parts, assemblies, tooling fixtures, and material to ensure compliance with customer requirements, company specifications, and quality requirements.
Sets up, operates, inspects, tests, and adjusts new and reworked tools, dies, gauges, jigs and fixtures for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
Maintains, processes, and updates confidential and sensitive electronic and hard copy reports, records and statistics.
Essential Functions
1. Inspects machined parts, components, assemblies and materials to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory guidelines (Military Standards, ASTM and ANSI, and ASME Code).
2. Sets up and calibrates measuring and test equipment and schedules service and repair of equipment.
May maintain calibration computer databases.
3. May observe testing and provide oversight, as necessary, to verify compliance with requirements.
May perform nondestructive examinations on various metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts, and assemblies using methods such as penetrant, hi-pot and hardness testing.
4. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
5. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Essential Qualifications
Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of progressive experience in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical or metrology inspection and calibration.
Must be customer focused and possess:
(1) the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications, and perform basic mathematical computations;
(2) the ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of employees;
(3) the ability to interpret routine information and respond to routine issues;
(4) the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and
(5) familiarity with the use of office software.
The ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
