Associate Technical Director - Mobility Structures (Europe)

It would play a role in Market to Opportunities to Pursuit to Win to Deliver to Results stages of a project. It involves managing and supporting the pursuit of business opportunities and the successful execution of projects within the organization. This role requires a combination of technical competencies, exposure to European mobility projects, strategic thinking, people management, project management skills, and a deep understanding of the business landscape. The candidate needs to manage the existing teams and would also get involved in developing the team in terms of competency and capacity to cater to the increased project demand coming from Europe. The role needs to deliver to the expectations of a project in quality, time, budget and a possible value addition. Work experience with Germany or Netherlands or Belgium or France would be a definite advantage. Supporting Pursuits: Assist European business in evaluating pursuit opportunities and contributing insights on capacity and capability. Collaborate with the pursuits team to streamline decision-making processes for pursuing projects. Bid Writing Assistance: Work closely with the team to enhance bid writing capabilities, ensuring alignment with established standards. Provide support in preparing and editing proposals to meet quality and consistency standards. Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination between the lead office and other disciplines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, creating compelling proposals and presentations to ensure a unified approach to strategic pursuits. Resource Acquisition Support: Assist in identifying resource needs for pursuit projects and contribute to strategic resource acquisition plans. Support in coordinating with other departments or external partners to acquire necessary resources. Knowledge Transfer Assistance: Support initiatives for knowledge transfer from bid team to delivery team, aiding in the documentation and sharing of best practices. Collaborate with team leads to ensure insights from past pursuits are effectively communicated and applied. Team Mentor: Ensure the development of the regional-focused team to develop and grow according to the market needs of Europe, both in terms of Capacity and Capability thereby setting the growth targets. Developing high competencies in comprehensive project reviews, forecasting, and resource management, collaborating closely with regional leads to capture project needs, timelines, required skills, and the number of resources needed. Oversee competence and quality through a robust Quality Management System, ensuring the timely submission of deliverables. Actively liaise with project managers and US offices, to connect with senior leadership, develop growth roadmaps, and drive continuous improvements. Major Projects: D & B projects concept design, alternative technical concepts, detailed design of projects, and support needed during construction phase required for structural design, BIM Modelling, CAD production and quantities done on any European projects would be a plus. Experience of handling multi-disciplinary projects would be an added advantage. Delivering to the Expectations Manage and grow teams in capacity and competency. Drive, maintain and manage Quality Management System Deliver ongoing projects as per business norms in terms of time, budget, cost and quality. Develop a strong 1st and 2nd line to cater to the increasing demand from EUROPE Maintain all business parameters including but not limited to billable hours, attrition, Peakon score, growth in numbers, etc : Masters in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering Domain. Minimum of 12 years of working experience for International Multi-disciplinary Projects for Highway Structures / Civil Structures / Railway Structures / Metro or Infrastructure in delivering various design and modelling tasks. Familiarity with the European Codes is a must. Must have done a hardcore structural engineering role prior to understand and evaluate the scope of projects from Europe. Work experience with Germany, Netherlands, Belgium or France would be an advantage. German or French or Dutch or Belgian language skills would be a solid plus. Proficient in written communication and capable of contributing to bid writing processes. Familiarity with European construction industry and Arcadis' service offerings. Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to assist in strategic decision-making. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse disciplines and support resource acquisition initiatives. Strong Decision Making Skills. These are required to align with GECs growth Strategy as well as to mitigate the risk. Role modeling Arcadis Values and Principles especially H & S Stewardship Understands Quality Management Process thoroughly and can apply the principles while dealing with European countries on large scale projects involving GECs. Work Seamlessly across 3 GEC locations to maximize the competency and capacity of all 3 locations.
