This is an additional role to work as a subject matter expert and a quality champion in structural engineering domain. This involves developing the competency of the team in structural engineering domain, tools, chartership, accreditations to rise in the value chain in project life cycle of projects across the globe. The role requires a focus on quality management system for successful execution of major projects within the organization and to cater to various BA s. This role requires a combination of strong technical competencies, education-experience-expertise in structural engineering, strategic thinking, people management, project management skills, and a deep understanding of the business landscape. The candidate needs to manage his/her existing teams and deliver to the expectations of a project in quality, time, budget and a possible value addition. The role demands a 50-50 workshare between existing line management role and the subject matter experts role. The workshare can change over the period of time and the candidate should be flexible to adopt to the changes. Role accountabilities: Developing Competencies in Structural Engineering: Develop additional competencies to cater to BAs demands. This may include specialty analysis like FEM, Track Structure Analysis, Wind Analysis, Seismic Analysis, etc. Develop a strong 1st line, 2nd line and 3rd line to cater to the increasing demand from BA s. Training and Development Work towards plugging the gap between supply and demand and prepare GEC teams to cater to future work Drive and maintain the T & D records with the help of training team. Focus on Quality Management System: Drive QMS/PCRA process on all projects with special focus on major projects Conduct or Drive trainings on QMS on regular basis especially for the new joiners. Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination between the lead office and other disciplines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and create efficient work culture Resource Acquisition Support: Assist in identifying resource needs for projects and contribute to strategic resource acquisition plans. Support in coordinating with other departments or external partners to acquire necessary resources. Knowledge Share Assistance: Support initiatives for knowledge share across GECs and BA s Conduct Lessons Learnt or success stories sessions on regular intervals Conduct Best practices session to improve efficiencies and reduce errors on the projects Team Mentor: Ensure the development of the regional-focused team to develop and grow according to the market needs in terms of Capacity and Capability thereby setting the growth targets. Oversee competence and quality through a robust Quality Management System, ensuring the timely submission of deliverables. Actively liaise with project managers and BA offices, to connect with senior leadership, develop growth roadmaps, and drive continuous improvements. Professional Accreditations: Help team improve on their professional accreditations with institutes like ICE, State DOTs in USA, etc. Assist in organizing continuous education needed for these accreditations Major Projects: Handling and delivering Design & Build and State DoT projects with understanding in various tools used in structural engineernig, 3D Modelling, CAD production and quantities. D & B projects concept design, alternative technical concepts, detailed design of projects, and involved in construction support. Leading multi-disciplinary projects for in Arcadis at Global Level including complex interdependencies of other disciplines. Existing Line Management Manage and grow existing teams in capacity and competency Deliver ongoing projects as per business norms Maintain all business parameters including but not limited to billable hours, attrition, Peakon score, growth in numbers, etc. Qualifications & Experience: Masters in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering Chartership with UK or Professional Engineering Licenses from USA or Canada or Australia or equivalent accolade from Europe Minimum 15 years of experience in Structural Engineering Design industry as of December 31, . Minimum of 12 years of working experience for International Multi-disciplinary Projects for Railway / Highway / Civil Structures / Metro or Civil Infrastructure in delivering various design and modelling tasks. Must have done a hardcore structural engineering role prior to understand and evaluate the scope of projects from BA s. Having work experience in Design & Build Projects is an added advantage. He/she should be at Arcadis Level 9 and designated as Associate Technical Director in the appropriate discipline. Proficient in written communication and capable of contributing to bid writing processes. Familiarity with the industry and Arcadis' service offerings. Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to assist in strategic decision-making. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse disciplines Strong Decision Making Skills. These are required to align with GECs growth Strategy as well as to mitigate the risk of delivering projects Role modeling Arcadis Values and Principles especially H & S Stewardship Understands PCRA process thoroughly and can apply the principles while dealing with BA s on large scale projects involving GECs. Work Seamlessly across 3 GEC locations to maximize the competency and capacity of all 3 locations.
