Your impact  Embark on a Journey of Innovation and Excellence   Jacobs is seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Water & Wastewater Engineer (Civil) to join our fast-growing Water Infrastructure team in the ANZ region. You will play a crucial part in planning, design, project delivery, design management, and project management, while also assisting in positioning and winning projects across a range of services.  This is an opportunity to join a dedicated and high-performing team of water professionals to deliver a range of significant projects for both public and private sector clients both locally and nationally.   We have a diverse base of water clients across the region and this role will contribute to setting and implementing strategy and capability for this client base, with support from our global technical experts.  Responsibilities:  The Associate Water & Wastewater Engineer (Civil) is responsible for providing consultancy, engineering services, technical input and direction in design in the ANZ region. The role will work alongside the Principal Engineers, taking a lead role with design and project delivery and winning work.  Key Responsibilities:  Deliver technically excellent designs and consultancy services.  Lead project delivery on cost and time, ensuring client satisfaction.  Assist in driving business development and winning work.  Identify and support the pursuit of future opportunities.  Develop and maintain strong key client relationships.  Represent the team at client meetings and events.  Collaborate closely with Jacobs’ client management team to identify emerging opportunities.  Further develop Project Manager and Project Director skills.  Develop design management functions on projects.  Maintain compliance with Jacobs’ QA procedures, including the deliverables review QA process.  Facilitate the technical development of junior resources.  Engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.  Promote an inclusive and safety culture within the organisation and with our clients.  Here's what you'll need What You’ll Do:  Deliver engineering solutions with outstanding technical and commercial results across the water sector including storage, conveyance, treatment (water and wastewater) and emerging technologies. Support leaders of the water and wastewater team in team development and growth, building design capability, and growing the section portfolio. Actively mentor junior team members and manage workload distribution within tasks. Foster client relationships and technical leadership. Your Expertise:  Proficient in water and/or wastewater treatment and/or conveyance infrastructure, from planning to commissioning. In the region of 8+ years’ experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design, with the ability to work with and coordinate multiple engineering disciplines, including those with some members located throughout Australia or internationally. Extensive knowledge of safety in design and relevant industry codes and standards relevant to the Australian water industry.  Demonstrated experience on multi-disciplinary projects, including participation in and facilitation of standard design meetings and workshops (progress design meetings, safety in design meetings and workshops etc). Ability to drive team excellence and delivery of quality solutions that meet client expectations. Technical specialist within cross-disciplinary knowledge and application. Ability to mentor and guide junior team members in their own technical development. Able to foster strong cross-disciplinary relationships within Jacobs and our partners. Experience with managing internal processes, including periodic reporting on project progress, financials and quality systems. Promote Jacobs’ Beyond Zero culture of caring. Qualifications and Experience  Relevant tertiary qualifications in civil engineering or equivalent. Extensive water and wastewater civil infrastructure design experience. In-depth knowledge of water industry standards, codes, and best practices, as well as a diverse understanding of the impact of construction/maintenance practicalities on design. Excellent task, design and project management, as well as client relationship skills. Outstanding technical communication and report writing abilities.
