Automation Engineer
A typical day:Support the efforts of the integrated team to deliver a portfolio of safe, efficient and effective capital projectsReview engineering work package developed by vendors for quality and meeting requirements of standardsMonitors the effective application of project development and execution best practices and addresses actions arising from Gate Reviews, Field Level Risk Assessments, Critical Controls Assurance activities, and Incident Learning ProgramAccountable for safe, cost-effective and timely execution of portfolio of high profile economic and regulatory compliance projects across the 17 O&L Products owned and operated sites, including the Canadian Terminals and the Ethanol plantSuccessful candidates will have:Project expertise in the development and execution of complex and development of startup and commissioning plansExcellent communication (written, verbal, and listening), change management, non-authoritative leadership and organizational skillsDegree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Chemical Engineering with Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation preferred or Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering15+ years relevant Oil and Gas industry experience, preferably in Refinery, Pipelines or Distribution operations10+ Strong programming background, and extensive PLC (Programmable Logic Control) and Multi-Load and Toptech technologySolid understanding of QNX and LINUX Knowledge of review of controls system documentation like control narratives, logic diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, loop wiring diagrams Total rewards:Competitive Compensation1 year contract with a potential to be extended till 2027 -202840-hour work week, Monday to FridayThis is an office-based role with regular overnight travel throughout CanadaCalgary applicants preferred.
