Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • \nCapture requirements and design the automation system, ensuring it is maintainable, extensible, reliable, efficient, and consistent with company standards.
  • \n

  • \nIntegrate software and hardware components into one application and verify/validate the system, including with the power system under test.
  • \n

  • \nLiaise with other teams and disciplines within the company, customers, and suppliers to facilitate the design and produce requirements and other system documents.
  • \n

  • \nProvide maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis, repair, and upgrades/development as required.
  • \n

  • \nPerform factory acceptance testing and commissioning work to the company's quality procedures.
  • \n

  • \nParticipate in design reviews and assist in other areas of the business as required.
  • \n

Qualifications and Requirements

\n

    \n
  • \nDegree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • \n

  • \nExisting or the ability to obtain higher levels of UK Security Clearance, including "SC Clearance" and "UK Eyes Only Clearance".
  • \n

  • \nExperience implementing automation systems.
  • \n

  • \nProficiency in PLC programming, HMI creation, and SCADA configuration.
  • \n

  • \nFamiliarity with various industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profinet, EtherCAT, OPC-UA).
  • \n

  • \nUnderstanding of industrial networks and their implementation.
  • \n

  • \nSolid programming and software development skills.
  • \n

  • \nFirst-hand hardware troubleshooting and software debugging experience.
  • \n
