Automation Engineer

Stoughton, Wisconsin - Full Time

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Stoughton, Wisconsin. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Automation Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation systems and a passion for improving manufacturing processes. In this role, you will help design, implement, and optimize automated systems that support the production of high-quality trailers. This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.

Duties:

• Design, develop, and install automated control systems for production processes, ensuring they meet production goals and quality standards.
• Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of automated systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Analyze current processes and identify opportunities for automation, increased efficiency, and cost reduction. Implement improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Work closely with engineers, operators, and other departments to integrate automation solutions into the production workflow.
• Maintain accurate documentation of automation systems, including schematics, programs, and operational manuals. Provide regular reports on system performance.
• Ensure that all automated systems comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Provide technical training for team members on the use and maintenance of automated equipment.

Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in automation engineering or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in PLC programming, automation software, and control systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, sensors, actuators, and robotics.
• Familiarity with machine vision, robotics, and other advanced automation technologies.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and root cause analysis.
• Experience with automation and control software (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and general engineering software tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems efficiently
