Automotive Diesel Fleet Mechanic

Job skills must include, but are not limited to: engine diagnostic, fuel systems diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting and repair, general mechanical abilities including brake and electrical systems. Strong attention to detail, verbal and written skills, basic computer skills and safety.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to lead and manage repairs and maintain high performance shop environment.

Communicate well with crew members and management.

Ability to purchase and inventory parts.

Strong Diagnostic Skills.

Preventative Maintenance Management

Ability to perform ASE inspections and preventive maintenance on diesel vehicles as per policies and procedures.
Performs mechanical and electrical repairs as per policies and procedures.
Assists other Mechanics as needed.
Operates company vehicles in accordance with company policy and safe practices.
Completes all required paperwork neatly, correctly and on time.
Experience with fleet software applications used to document all completed tasks / job assignments.
Attend all mandatory Fleet training.
Performs all other duties as requested by Fleet Manager.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Principal Accountabilities:
Vehicles repaired and maintained correctly and in a timely fashion.
Maintain safe and clean work area.
Paperwork complete and neat.
Accurately account for all parts and materials.
Excellent customer service skills.
Maintain good working relationship with all personnel and professional conduct with outside contacts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:
Must have a current valid driver's license.
Must have a High School diploma, or equivalent education.
2 years verifiable Line Mechanic
5 ASE Certifications (Truck or Automotive series).  Preferably Brake and Steering / Suspension, Engine Performance, Diesel Engine (A9) and A6.
AC Certification or equivalent ASE Certification is a plus.

Must have a full set of personal tools- some specialty tools will be provided.

Experience:
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions on memos, letters, various documents and repair manuals.
Ability to perform the essential job functions.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Automotive knowledge and skills necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles.

:

-7+ years hands on experience as a diesel technician

-Past experience in Fleet Maintenance

-Have ASE Certification.

-*Technical training is a plus but is not required.
