Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Technician with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles while ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Schedule:
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday 7:30am -5:00pm
- Tuesday: 7:30am - 7:30pm
- NO WEEKENDS
- Overtime available
Pay is based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and engine issues in domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, brake inspections, and alignments.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and provide accurate assessments and recommendations.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify vehicle issues.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer and company quality standards.
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used.
- Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers about necessary repairs and timelines.
- Keep work area clean and organized and follow all safety protocols.
- Stay current with industry standards, tools, and technology updates.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of professional automotive repair and maintenance experience.
- ASE Certification(s) (or willingness to obtain).
- Must have Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must have your own set of hand tools.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Basic computer and software skills for diagnostics and record-keeping.
Company DescriptionBorn in 1911, Tom Cherry became a successful sprint and midget car racer as well as a promoter, car builder, mechanic and businessman. He opened Tom Cherry Automotive Engineering in Muncie in 1946.
During his long racing career, he helped form the Mutual Racing Association in Muncie in 1938, and won the MRA Championship in 1950. He dominated at the Little 500 in Anderson, Indiana, winning the event four times, and retired from driving in 1956.
He was inducted into the HARF Hall of Fame in 1960, the Little 500 Hall of Fame in 2009, and the Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 1977. He passed away in 1990.
