The Role
We have an exciting career opportunity for an Audio-Visual Design Engineer to join our growing DSI Tech team! As the Audio-Visual Design Engineer, you will own and be a dynamic contributor to the Audio-Visual team for one of the most successful, technology solutions providers in the nation. This role is in our office in Ashburn, VA (currently hybrid). It requires up to 50% travel on an annual basis. The candidate has to be eligible to work in the USA. Sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities
• Prepare AV design packages, perform equipment inventory, install and verify systems
• Create floor plan diagrams, room and rack elevations, and audio, video, and control line diagrams
• Prepare bill of materials that includes hardware, materials, wall plates, and cabling, and provide estimates for services for internal review
• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for AV system hardware and network designs
• Conduct research, stay up to date, and collaborate with manufacturers, vendors, and colleagues in the design, planning, and implementation of AV systems
• Provide program reports to analyze system capabilities to define gaps and meet users’ requirements
• Specialize in audio digital signal processors, video over IP, networks, video conferencing, web conferencing, matrix switchers, and complex systems
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of AV systems, including network, hardware, software, codecs, audio video switchers, AV control systems, AV devices including monitors, microphones, cameras, mixers, amplifiers, VTC gateways, VTC bridges, video streamers, etc.
• Communicate directly with customers, management, sales, and project managers
• Performs other related duties as assigned
What You Need for this Role
• CTS, Crestron Design Track, Crestron DMC-E, Extron Authorize Programmer, Extron AV Associate, BIAMP
• Proficiency and in-depth knowledge of AV and IT systems
• Ability to read Architectural and schematic diagrams (System and Building Drawings)
• Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Proficiency with PCs, CAD, Drafting, and MS Office
• Basic understanding of the sales order process and steps needed to complete the scope of work
Required Experience
• Minimum 3 years of AV Engineer experience
• AutoCAD and/or Visio drawing capabilities
• Audio DSP programming and gain structure (Biamp, Extron DMP, QSC Core)
• Crestron and Extron Nomenclature
• Network Topology, IP addressing, Multicast Systems
• Certifications: CTS (CTS-I or CTS-D ), Crestron DMC-E, Extron AV Associate, Biamp Tesira Forte
