Pay Rate: $29.00 – $33.00 per hour (DOE)

Position Summary
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for product installations, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on A/V equipment in a medical environment. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, flexible, and possesses strong technical acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform product installations and scheduled maintenance on A/V systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide phone support to clients and fellow technicians as needed.
  • Coordinate service availability with operating rooms and accommodate flexible working hours, including after-hours service when required.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Travel locally up to 80% and out-of-state up to 20% (home on weekends).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of cable media types (Coax, HDMI, USB, Cat5/6, etc.).
  • Experience in servicing electro-mechanical and medical devices.
  • Familiarity with AV equipment and control systems, including:
    • Audio consoles, power amplifiers, DSPs, video matrix switchers, and video scalers.
    • PC interfaces, computer controls, and DVRs.
  • Proficient in using service tools such as digital multimeters, vacuum/pressure meters, and frequency counters.
  • Capable of physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, climbing, and crawling.
  • Experience mounting AV equipment (e.g., monitors, speakers).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Valid driver's license with ability to rent vehicles for travel.

/Bonus Skills

  • A/V and CCTV experience.
  • CompTIA A+ certification.
  • Experience with optical products.
  • Familiarity with command line, PowerShell, Active Directory/LDAP, and SQL.
  • Understanding of wireless networks (Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac).
  • Experience managing own travel and expenses.
