This IT leadership position to help enable the transformation of the IT Infrastructure and Operations department. This position will help teams to develop standard processes, governance, and practice to enhance IT service delivery. This position will be business and technology focused to promote value in execution and product delivery. Candidates for this position require proven experience in IT Operations and process development. This position will report to the VP of IT Infrastructure Operations.
Essential Functions:
- Lead teams of skilled infrastructure and support teams to support Merrick Bank. This role will improve service availability, resiliency, and scalability through process improvement. Develop support processes, project implementation/planning and developing measurements to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop technical managers and teams to document, processes, and controls. Establish discipline and practice to drive accuracy and efficiency of work. Develop process automation leading to enabling self-service and automated configuration management.
- Institute a culture of motivation, inspiration, and leading teams to achieve goals, build capacity to develop and innovate, and creatively manage challenges and changes.
- Industry knowledge and practice of implementing frameworks such as ITIL to improve and measure incident, change, problem, and knowledge management. Experience working with auditing and the establishment of controls for a technical organization.
- Partner across IT and the business to develop and support processes to maintain or achieve regulatory compliance or governance requirements.
- Be an active leader in the development and integration of technology systems delivery adhering to agile practices and software development methodologies, policies, and procedures to provide a consistent, reusable process for managing multiple projects that rapidly deliver high quality solutions and meet service delivery expectations. Participate in architectural process and the development of support practice new for and existing solutions.
- Lead the management of existing inventory and new inventory. Manage EOL practice and maintain support for vendor solutions. Manage contracts with vendors, contractors, and consultants supporting the delivery and maintenance of technology systems.
- Implements "Best of Breed" ideology resulting in modernization and transformation of enterprise tooling across the organization.
- Manages, delivers, monitors and tracks key improvements to the current systems and
- infrastructure to stay ahead of demand.
- Maintains organizational focus on growth initiatives in properly scaling infrastructure to support future demand.
- Analyzes business requirements, reviews specifications, scopes technical requirements,
- manages multiple work-streams, drives rigorous testing and coordinates delivery.
- Utilize and develop KPI’s to measure services, team performance, availability, and asset management.
- Provide leadership and direction in goal setting, coaching, staffing, and motivating.
Compliance with Laws & Regulations:
- Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
- Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.
Education and Experience:
- Ten (10) years of experience in Information Technology, infrastructure, support role(s).
- Five (5) years of experience leading project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience with the ITIL framework required.
- Three (3) years of experience with hands-on experience with Lean and Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban.
Summary of Qualifications:
- Solid technical skills and practical experience implementing networking, compute, storage technologies, platform engineering and cloud technology management
- Knowledge and practical experience implementing End User computing solutions
- Experience and subject matter expertise implementing Cloud technology solutions
- Solid interpersonal skills and comfortable interacting with business and senior IT Leadership
- Must be willing to accept new ideas and constructive feedback for the betterment of the organization and individuals involved.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Exemplary in report building and presentation skills.
- Vast knowledge of Collaborative tooling platforms (Office 365)
- Experience working with PII, PCI, PAA and regulated businesses.
