Our innovative, mission-driven technology VIP Client is seeking a AWS Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing, remote-first team of engineers while working hybrid (2 days/week in-office) near Tucker, GA.

This role requires a strong technical leader with deep expertise in PHP, JavaScript (both front-end and back-end), and Node.js, along with hands-on experience in AWS and Linux environments (Windows experience is not applicable). As the engineering leader, you will drive the development of scalable web applications, optimize cloud-based architectures, and align engineering efforts with business objectives—demonstrating measurable ROI from your department’s initiatives.

Base Salary: $150,000 + up to 10% annual bonus
Hybrid Role – In-office Mondays & Thursdays (Tucker, GA)
Linux-Based Development Environment – Strong Linux Experience Required

What You’ll Do

Lead & Mentor – Manage and develop a distributed team of 7+ software and test engineers in an Agile environment.
Webapp Leadership – Drive the end-to-end development of scalable, high-performance JavaScript and PHP-based applications.
Full-Stack Development Oversight – Guide teams in building robust, secure, and maintainable applications using Node.js, PHP, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
AWS Cloud & Linux Infrastructure – Architect and optimize cloud-based solutions while ensuring best practices in a Linux-based production environment.
Demonstrate ROI & Business Impact – Track and showcase how engineering initiatives translate into business growth and efficiency improvements.
Hands-On Technical Leadership – While primarily a leadership role, you’ll contribute to the codebase when necessary to support your team.
Establish Technical Standards – Define and enforce coding best practices, scalability strategies, and security measures.
Optimize Agile Processes – Oversee Agile ceremonies and foster efficient cross-team collaboration.

What You Bring

7+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer with expertise in PHP and JavaScript.
2+ years of engineering management experience leading teams in an Agile development environment.
Strong experience working in Linux-based development environments (critical requirement).
Proven ability to architect and scale web applications in AWS.
Hands-on expertise with Node.js, PHP, and JavaScript (front-end & back-end).
Strong track record of optimizing engineering teams to drive measurable ROI and business impact.
Excellent communication & leadership skills – Ability to mentor teams and convey technical concepts effectively.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

Experience leading distributed or nearshore teams.
Hands-on expertise with TypeScript, React, MySQL/Postgres, Kafka, GraphQL, Vue.js.
Master’s degree in Computer Science ( but not required).
Agile or Scrum certification (a plus).
