Battery Application Engineer
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBrief Description of RoleWe are looking for a candidate to join our team of dedicated engineers to identify, design, develop, and optimize the battery and Energy Storage system that will be integrated into multiple platforms. The candidate will work closely with project manager and all engineer leads (cell development, module/pack design, BMS, testing etc.) as a technical liaison in the field of battery/ESS systems to represent the promising solutions/technical proposals to encounter requirements from customers. The main responsibility includes both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering to deliver winning products.
- Responsibilities include
Market analysis: Monitor the market and competitors, and develop competitive analysesCustomer needs:Identify, and analyze battery system level requirements and deliver the requirements to other departments. Work as a technical liaison to discuss and negotiate with clients to encounter RFQ – requirements.Product strategy: Define the product vision and strategy, and translate it into requirements for engineering teams;Responsible for technical design analysis, trade-off studies, and design reviews with project leads.Product development:Lead or support battery system development with the R&D team to ensure that all the technical deliverables (design, integration, HW, SW) can be implemented on a system level based on customer requirements and internal project goals.Responsible for the development and integration of battery system from technical concepts to SOP of productTrack and report the project status for continuous improvement of systems functions.Responsible for the product integration with the experience of EESE or EE subsystem integrationInterface with battery component suppliers and 3rd party testing / certificate facilitiesSome necessary business travel may require.Product management: Oversee a team of product professionals, and manage department budgetsProduct communication: Understand and communicate the product's selling points, and represent the company at customer visit or public events.
- Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electric-drive Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplineA minimum of 1 year of system engineering experience in the automotive or ESS industry, with Hybrid and / or Electric Vehicles experience is .Experience with Lead acid, Li-ion Battery and Energy storage systems.Experience of functional safety and ASPICS is a plus.Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute deliverables in an occasionally high-pressure environment.Bilingual skills (Fluent English and Chinese)
