Job Title: Battery Test Technician

Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)

Location: Cupertino, CA

Shift A Week 1 - Mon-Wed 7am - 7pm. Week 2 - Mon - Thurs 7am - 7pm 

 

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Battery Test Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Battery Test Technician, you will play a crucial role in the assembly, testing, and measurement of batteries, contributing to the overall quality and performance of our products. Responsibilities:

  • Assemble batteries into carriers for testing using basic hand tools with precision.
  • Load and unload carriers from thermal chambers, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Place loaded fixtures into semi-automated test stations and perform necessary testing procedures.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical measurements on devices following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate any observed issues in samples, processes, or documentation to the supervisor promptly.
  • Accurately enter test data into the shop floor system.
  • Support engineers in failure analysis efforts as directed.
  • Assist in organizing inventory and warehouse activities as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Meticulous attention to detail and careful handling of materials.
  • Proficiency in data entry using Excel.
  • Familiarity with both Windows and macOS environments preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a repetitive environment.
  • Strong adherence to documented procedures and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting issues clearly and effectively.
  • Experience in handling Lithium-ion batteries is a plus but not essential.
  • Willingness to work alternative shifts (swing, weekend-day) is preferred.
  • Basic experience in wiring and soldering is desirable.
  • Previous safety training in similar roles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with torque wrenches and thickness gauges is preferred.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical testing of devices (e.g., medical devices, semiconductors, solar, aerospace, or battery industries).
