The Role

To help us in the next phase of our growth were looking for a Senior Bid Manager/Senior Proposals Manager, who will be responsible for managing all bids and tender processes and the continual evolution of best practice. Responding to Public Sector and Private client RfP/ITT/Proposals, you will be working closely with our business development, legal teams, marketing, HR, EDI, and Operations teams, to create and deliver comprehensive and compelling submissions.

This is not a transactional role! Yes, you will ensure all submissions are completed accurately, on time, and to the highest quality standards, but you will also challenge the organisation and make us stronger. As a key part of our business winning team, you will lead the continual development of our business winning processes and expansion of the bid team. We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating at Exec and Senior Partner level to influence and shape our strategic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Winning new business opportunities through bids and proposals, aligning with strategic objectives and business development plans.
  • Oversee the end-to-end bid management process, from opportunity identification to submission.
  • Developing and sharing best practices, improving content, messaging, and processes.
  • Leading qualification and prioritisation of opportunities.
  • Comfortable leading commercial and operational discussions and contributing strategic and operational insight to proposals.
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities, working with business development and legal teams.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including Legal colleagues, sales, marketing, and subject matter experts, to develop compelling and competitive bids.
  • Conducting research and supporting the business development team.
  • Coaching partners and legal teams in best practice.
  • Supporting development of presentations.
  • Analysing pitch wins/losses, collecting feedback, and updating the tender tracker.
  • Overseeing the appropriate use of bid content library and CRM systems.
  • Monitoring online portals daily for relevant tender, RFI, and PQQ opportunities
  • Generating monthly reports, analysing tender activity, and suggesting improvements.
  • Ensuring proposals align with brand guidelines and bid standards.
  • Collaborating with the BD/Marketing team and the wider firm, offering advice and assistance as needed.
  • Working with marketing to engage employees internally and promote storytelling.
  • Managing the budget and monitoring spending to achieve planned objectives.

  • Proven experience managing cross functional bid teams.
  • Experience developing and implementing winning bid strategies.
  • Experience leading multiple, concurrent bids.
  • Experience managing a diverse range of stakeholders across multiple bids.
  • Experience of championing and developing a best-in-class bids & tenders process

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Able to liaise at all levels in the organisation.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience within the Legal sector is desirable but not essential (sector training will be provided).
  • Member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) desirable
