POSITION SUMMARY:

The BOM Specialist will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) documentation across various products and projects. This role requires an individual with a keen attention to detail who can ensure all BOM-related information is up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with project specifications. The BOM Specialist will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to streamline BOM processes and support overall product lifecycle management.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • BOM Creation and Maintenance: Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive BOMs for new and existing products, ensuring documentation aligns with engineering and production requirements.
  • Data Management: Update and manage BOM data within the company's ERP/MRP systems, ensuring information is accurate and reflects current product configurations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Quality Assurance, to ensure seamless BOM management and adherence to production timelines.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in BOM processes and contribute to the development of streamlined workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Change Management: Monitor and document engineering changes (ECOs) that affect BOMs and ensure all adjustments are accurately reflected in systems and communicated to relevant departments.
  • Inventory Support: Coordinate with inventory and procurement teams to ensure accurate forecasting and parts availability based on BOM requirements.
  • Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on BOM status, variances, and other relevant metrics to assist in project planning and inventory control.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in BOM management, inventory control, or a similar role within manufacturing or production.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (such as Syspro, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced knowledge of Excel. Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy in managing complex datasets and documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot BOM-related issues and make decisions based on data analysis and production needs.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
