We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing and Compliance Manager to join our team. In this key leadership role, you will oversee our billing operations, ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, and support company-wide financial stability. Responsibilities:

  • Billing Operations:
    • Oversee all aspects of the billing process to ensure timely and accurate submission of claims, payments, and reimbursements.
    • Monitor workflow and resolve discrepancies promptly.
    • Utilize Brightree software (or related platforms) to manage billing entries, verify patient data, and track claims.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain billing and compliance policies and procedures.
    • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local healthcare regulations and industry best practices (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid requirements).
    • Conduct periodic audits and internal reviews to identify potential compliance risks and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead, mentor, and train billing team members, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Authorizations, etc.) to streamline processes and maintain clear communication on billing and compliance matters.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and present regular reports on billing performance, reimbursement trends, and compliance metrics to senior management.
    • Analyze data to identify areas for process improvement, increased efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Stakeholder Relations:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding billing and compliance questions and issues.
    • Work closely with third-party payers to facilitate smooth reimbursement processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and compliance management, preferably in a healthcare or DME setting.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficient in Brightree software (strongly ) or similar billing platforms.
    • Solid understanding of medical billing codes (e.g., ICD-10, CPT), reimbursement processes, and insurance guidelines.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    • Thorough knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and best practices (HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).
    • Experience conducting internal compliance audits and implementing corrective plans.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Work Environment:
    • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while effectively managing team collaboration and project deadlines.
    • Organized, proactive, and able to identify and address potential issues swiftly.
