The role:

As a BIM Detailer, you will collaborate with BIM Coordinators and Project Managers to accurately detail plumbing and mechanical systems, create highly detailed and accurate models and produce dimensioned drawings for installation and fabrication within the manufacturing division. Additionally, you will support all company divisions with coordination, BIM, CAD, and related technical requirements to ensure seamless project execution.


In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with BIM Project Managers to produce detailed fabrication and installation drawings for mechanical and plumbing systems.

  • Develop highly detailed fabrication drawings from the BIM, including fabrication spool maps and individual spool drawings with annotations, bills of materials, pipe cut lists, and identification labels.

  • Assist in modeling, drawing completion, and QA/QC reviews for your work and the work of other team members.

  • Communicate with BIM Coordinators, superintendents, and project managers to ensure fabrication intent is accurately conveyed.

  • Assist BIM Project Managers in coordinating efforts to meet construction schedules.

  • Stay up-to-date with training and industry advancements while providing input on hardware and software needs. 


Apply if you have:

  • Trade school or associate degree in construction, mechanical, or plumbing systems.

  • At least 1 year of experience installing mechanical or plumbing systems.

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADmep, Autodesk Revit, and Autodesk Navisworks.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ssuite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to learn company-specific software.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply mechanical and plumbing construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess challenges and recommend effective solutions.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to train, mentor, and present.

  • Strong organizational and self-management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to manage tasks, coordinate project activities, and ensure work is completed on schedule.

  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to ethical behavior and high standards of integrity.

  • Ability to collaborate, maintain positive working relationships, and adapt to team dynamics.


Even better if you have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems, especially in large commercial projects.

  • Familiarity with additional BIM software, such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, MSUITE (BIMPro), EVOLVE, or Stratus.

  • Ability to interpret BIM models and produce clear, installer-friendly drawings for field use.


Compensation and featured benefits:

  • The pay for this position is $65,000 - $80,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
  • Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
  • Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
