VACANCY NOTICEEngineering Support AssistantB&Q Contract - WORKSOPAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Support Assistant to join our established team at B&Q Worksop. This challenging and exciting role will appeal to an individual with experience, drive, determination, and enthusiasm. THE ROLE: To assist in the general day-to day running of the site engineering operation, carry out first line fixes on non (A)HME equipment, to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum. The role(s) are part of the formation of the in-house engineering team at the B&Q site, Worksop. To service and maintain the Company’s property and equipment as instructed by the Engineering Manager, in accordance with the set down schedules and manufacturers’ recommendations. To carry out reactive repairs and or fault diagnosis to Company’s property / equipment both indoors and outside the building. To comply with standard Health & Safety at Work responsibilities. To work flexible hours commensurate with the needs of the business and those sections using the site. To participate in standby duties and attend the site outside normal working hours in the event of an emergency. To undertake such duties as may be assigned by the Engineering Manager, relating to the safety and operation of the site. KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCEEssential:Administration skills, use of PCRepairing mechanical systems, sub-assemblies, and componentsExperience of working in an automated warehouse environmentDesirable:Educated to City and Guilds / BTECH standard or a minimum of 5 years mechanical engineering experienceWelding (mig/stick,etc)Working knowledge of conveyors and associated equipmentGood systematic problem-solving skills on mechanical components
