POSITION SUMMARY Southeastern Retina Associates, PC is seeking an experienced healthcare Business Analyst / Project Manager to join their corporate team in Knoxville, TN. This individual will support the leadership team, Billing Center, and POD Operations to maximize efficiency of current and future systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Acts as a liaison with all departments to understand, analyze, and maximize the effectiveness of all system and workflows. Communicates effectively with each internal customer to fully understand needs, and successfully communicates/translates those needs into solutions.
  • Understands business needs, and proposes recommendations, adjustments, and process improvements to achieve success.
  • Drives new system implementation where warranted, including the creation of RFPs and superuser teams.
  • Drives full utilization/maximization of current systems, ensuring the practice effectively implements the latest system enhancements, and that workflows are adapted to maximize the combination of system and operational efficiency
  • Handles access requests and acts as liaison with EMR/PM and other vendors
  • Collects and compiles accurate statistical reports as needed.
  • Defines, plans, orchestrates, and delivers a given strategic initiative.
  • Validates financial forecasts and on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
  • Audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of operations.
  • Facilitates key project meetings
  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
  • Publishes periodic project status reports.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all health information management issues (such as HIPAA) and all health regulations.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements and ensures that compliance with all laws and regulations is maintained.
  • Routinely briefs key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES

  • Requires superior communication skills to successfully interact with all internal and external customers.
  • Requires superior data management, extraction, and analysis skills, including proven ability in Microsoft Excel. Proven skills in Access, SQL, and other database or programming exposure would be preferred.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians/providers, practice leadership, employees, and external organizations.
  • Skill in developing, implementing, administering, and improving work processes.

Education | EXPERIENCE

Education

      • Bachelor or Associate level degree in Business, Analytics or other related field REQUIRED
      • Master’s Degree PREFERRED
      • PMP PREFERRED
      • Lean/Six Sigma certifications PREFERRED

Experience

  • Minimum of Two (2) Years' Experience in a similar role REQUIRED
  • Project Management Experience REQUIRED

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work may require sitting for long periods of time. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.

Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operates a calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an office environment with frequent contact and meetings with referring physician’s offices and the public. Early morning meetings, evening, or weekend work is to be performed as needed to meet schedules and to attend meetings or networking events.
