Expert Technical Solutions has an immediate opening for a Business Architect with one of our premier clients in Atlanta, GA. You will collaborate with manufacturing IT and operations leaders to develop strategic technology roadmaps. This role involves capability mapping, understanding business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and defining requirements, data models, and processes to optimize manufacturing workflows. This position is integral to Manufacturing IT's commitment to advancing technology-enabled disciplined operations while ensuring a safe and productive workforce. This is a full-time, permanent position with hybrid work schedule – 3 days/wk in the office and 2 days/wk work from home. Primary Responsibilities:
- Stay aligned with the vision, priorities, and requirements of our core manufacturing processes.
- Assist manufacturing leaders in developing strategies and prioritizing technology investments, championing these strategies throughout the organization.
- Partner with key stakeholders to address current and future needs, challenges, and opportunities. Provide insights on technology trends and disruptions to champion potential advancements.
- Facilitate and influence decision-making processes using economic thinking, data, insights, and trade-off analysis.
- Develop business architecture and capability roadmaps that align with manufacturing strategies and priorities.
- Evaluate and educate on technology solutions and vendors to unlock technology-enabled value streams.
- Communicate and present technology roadmaps and solutions to various audiences, including senior executives, business partners, IT teams, and external vendors, using clear and compelling and visuals.
- Collaborate with IT leaders, architects, and delivery teams to align and integrate technology roadmaps with manufacturing and IT strategies.
Operations Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement:
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and leaders across manufacturing and IT organizations.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities within manufacturing to influence how technology can enable them.
- Act as a liaison between manufacturing stakeholders and technical teams.
- Collaborate with IT teams for analysis, design, deployment, integration, and continual advancement of core platforms.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement key organizational process improvements, such as automation, optimization, standardization, or simplification.
- Facilitate and influence decision-making processes across business and IT domains using economic thinking, data, insights, and trade-off analysis.
- Monitor and measure the performance and value of the technology portfolio, providing feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement using relevant metrics and indicators.
Required Experience:
- Proven knowledge of best practices related to MES, including manufacturing integration standards and methodologies such as ISA-95, ISA-99, ISA-106, Smart Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0.
- Experience leading and implementing IT projects and collaborating with teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute platform roadmaps in conjunction with changing business priorities and economic conditions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and risks to aid in delivery.
- Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role working on manufacturing execution and shop-floor systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of how manufacturing relates to other Industry 4.0 value stream capabilities (supply chain, product development, customer experience, etc.).
- Ability to translate strategic business goals into clear vision and operating model objectives.
- Ensuring that business and IT architectures support the execution of the business strategy.
- Financial planning and analysis related to technology and total cost of ownership modeling.
- Experience with MES, WMS, SCM, PLM, LIMS, process controls, and manufacturing integrations.
- Familiarity with LeanIX or other capability mapping tools.
