What Will You Do?

As our Business Development Engineer, you will generate leads for Sales from a variety of sources. A key part of the role is taking inbound calls and making outbound calls to leads sourced by Marketing through ad campaigns and website and qualifying opportunities that fit our business for sales. Another focus of the role is to find publicly advertised bids that fit our services, assess the opportunities and work with Estimating in building a compelling case for the client and submitting a bid. You will also manage and source leads from partners, special initiatives and focused account based campaigns. You will support the sales team as needed with the goal to increase overall revenue and win new geotechnical construction projects. Responsibilities

What work will I be performing?

  • Take inbound calls and make outbound calls to Marketing generated leads to create opportunities for sales.
  • Identify, assess and build compelling bids to submit in the publicly advertised space to win projects and build awareness about our services and excellence in delivery.
  • Support Sales during special initiatives to open opportunities via outreach, draft proposals, complete site visits and provide additional support.
  • Gather, manage and follow up with leads from 3rd party sources.
  • Nurture leads and relationships in partnership with Sales and Estimating.
  • Conduct outbound calls to obtain competitive data for special projects and to assess loss reasons.
  • Maintain activity records and manage funnel in CRM. Conduct insight analysis to continue to find improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize social selling techniques to expand network and open new opportunities.


Qualifications

What Do I Need to Bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering ) or equivalent combination of education and technical sales experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales or lead experience for technical services offerings, preferably in a business-to-business setting
  • Excellent communication style (outgoing phone/video presence and email writing/creation)
  • Experience in relationship development and opportunity identification
  • Ability to learn/understand and articulate a value proposition concisely
  • Prior use of sales and marketing software (CRM systems, Marketing Automation, Account Based Marketing Tools, 3rdparty contact providers)
  • Use of individual creativity and collaboration to constantly obtain personal and team goals
  • Strong commercial business acumen

Base salary*: $60,000.00 to $78,000.00

*This base salary range is used nationally. The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, skillset, market conditions, location, etc.
