What’s the role?
MIDEL & MIVOLT is a product range of synthetic and natural esters for use as transformer fluids (MIDEL) and immersion cooling liquids for batteries and data centres (MIVOLT). MMFL has built a strong global business based on delivering technical excellence and high standards of customer service to niche markets around the globe. Since the company’s acquisition by Shell in Jan 2024, we seek to grow MIDEL’s market presence, and develop a go-to market proposition for MIVOLT.
Our manufacturing facilities is based in Manchester UK, and we sell our products across the globe.
We manufacture and sell a range of products under the MIDEL brand which are used as insulation and coolant fluids in transformers. MIDEL products are fire safe, environmentally friendly esters used either as a replacement for mineral oil or dry type transformers. Further details can be found on www.midel.com.
Purpose:
- Responsible to set ambitious and inspiring vision and opportunity funnel on how to materialise MIDEL growth ambition across region.
- Responsible to create, develop, manage and materialise an opportunity funnel with business opportunities to deliver the business plan and beyond (SPA part of SPANCOP, with support on N).
What you’ll be doing
Accountablities:
- Grow the ester category in Transformer oil overall. Responsible to drive thought leadership and high engagement with end users in the market. Have a systematic approach and plan to achieve this.
- Drive business development of allocated geographies: from opportunity mapping to prioritization of opportunities, account strategies and stakeholder relationships.
- Influence and convert ester specifications and developing opportunities at Key OEMS and their end users including utilities, renewables, industrial.
- Support delivery of annual targets on/above plan including Volume, Margin (C3) and Unit margin.
- Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of transformer oil market, the key players and market dynamics,
- Build strong and effective business relationships with Key Stakeholders in assigned geographies, facilitate, and manage regular engagements with prospects, revise and implement stakeholder engagement plan.
- Collaborate with Global Key Accounts (GKA) and regional direct and indirect sales and marketing organisations including technical.
- To be a champion for Goal Zero, to lead by example and demonstrate pro-active commitment to HSSE, to help take team from a Progressive to a Generative HSSE culture, leading Near Miss/Potential Incident reporting, safety sharing/focus, implementation of GKA and Team HSSE plan.
- Ensure all business conducted with assigned customers is fully compliant with Shell Business Principles and relevant competition laws.
- Demonstrate and Deliver Commercial Excellence leadership behaviours.
- Manage Travel/entertainment spend
What you bring
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US
- Technical degree level, ideally in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Sound ability to sell based on a minimum of 5 years industrial sales experience
- Experienced sales professional with excellent influencing, networking and communication skills with colleagues, customers and business partners
- Ideally will have experience in the power transmission and distribution industry
- Capable of using initiative and self-reliant, while at the same time being able to work collaboratively with MMFL UK and the Shell organisation.
What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $122,000 - $182,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
